When COVID-19 changed our world, The Raleigh Ringers remained committed to our craft while making sure we are mindful of what others might be experiencing. We worked with our partners and venues and, in light of ongoing restrictions and concerns, made the difficult decisions to cancel all spring concerts and our summer tour. Every attempt was made to reschedule, but many of those concerts will not happen until 2021.

...or A Ton of Extra Baggage (well not quite a ton…)
It just isn’t a concert by The Raleigh Ringers without all the unique extra “stuff”! And it isn’t only difficult to get the extra “stuff” overseas to deliver the same high-quality handbell experience to those audiences—it’s tough to fit those lowest aluminum bells in carry-on bags! Oversized baggage fees are so pricey on international flights that the group even considered buying a seat for the larger cases (no pretzels for the G1, please).
Thank you very much to our Virtual Roadies, who helped get all of our equipment to and from Europe in 2016!

As of July 20, 2016
2015 summer travel proved very interesting for The Raleigh Ringers…
In a nutshell, the group found itself without adequate transportation an hour before leaving on a 10-day Midwest tour, despite having reserved a vehicle two months prior. After a bit of scrambling, we were finally able to scrounge up a second rental van in the nick of time.
But we also vowed to do all in our power to prevent this same scenario from happening in the future.
This is what we found out: Ford no longer makes the 15-passenger E350 vans that we had been able to rent for more than a decade, and none would be available for rent in the future. In addition, their "new and improved" style did not suit our ringer and/or equipment transport purposes.
It was time to bite the bullet and buy one of the few remaining extended-sized vans in North Carolina. After much negotiation, The Raleigh Ringers now owns a 2014 certified pre-owned Ford 15-passenger van.
The Raleigh Ringers sincerely thanks those who have chosen to participate in current fundraising campaigns designed to retire this debt:
- Direct Contributions
- 50/50 Raffle (held at the Capital Area Handbell Festival on 11/7/15)
- Panera Night (held on 11/3/15)

This campaign was for underwriting donations to help defray the cost of UNC-TV filming the 2012 Holiday Concerts for a new holiday concert special. Donors of $1,000 and more were listed in the credits of the television special. The campaign ended on July 31, 2013. We were able to raise $26,775 towards the goal of $50,000.

When The Raleigh Ringers incorporated in 1990, we knew that our goal of becoming an independent, self-sufficient community handbell ensemble would require careful planning, dedication, patience and above all, the help of many friends. The Abbotswood and Springmoor retirement communities literally opened their doors to us, each graciously providing essential rehearsal and storage space over the years. As guests in their homes, however, we were understandably limited in our ability to schedule rehearsals and sectionals and to store our ever-growing collection of instruments and other equipment.
In 2007, The Raleigh Ringers took the next giant step toward independence: acquiring our own rehearsal space! We were fortunate to find a building that perfectly suits our needs. On September 26, 2007, The Raleigh Ringers became the owner of a 2400 square-foot "flex-use" space in Raleigh, and began a 5-year "Opening New Doors" fundraising campaign to pay for the building.
Thanks again to the generosity of so many donors, we were able to pay off the building loan in early 2012! Many thanks to everyone who gave to this campaign.

The Raleigh Ringers held a Capital Campaign in 2003 to raise money for a 20-foot box equipment truck to haul 47 cases of bells and 5,000 pounds of equipment and supplies to and from concerts.
Thanks to the generosity of the Truck Campaign donors, over $12,000 was raised. The Raleigh Ringers became the proud owner of a 20-foot Mitsubishi diesel truck in 2004and paid off the loan in February 2005.
