Impressions of the Season
Our first holiday CD contains twenty-six seasonal favorites.
This double CD of handbell music has something for everyone.
In addition to the CDs listed above, The Raleigh Ringers has also made appearances on three other CDs, entitled Grand Larsen-y, Betty B. Garee Anthology Volume I, and Dean Shostak's World Glass.
Grand-Larsen-y is a vocal CD of music composed by Libby Larsen, as performed by both Ellen Williams and Terry Rhodes. The Raleigh Ringers perform on the four-movement "Hell's Belles", accompanying mezzo-soprano Ellen Williams. The Raleigh Ringers would like to express their appreciation to Handbell Ensemble Sonos, from the Bay Area of California, who commissioned Libby Larsen to write "Hell's Belles".
This recording is available through your local music store, or by going directly to the Albany Records website. (Code Number TROY634)
Betty B. Garee Anthology I
Betty B. Garee (1927-1986) was truly an icon in the development and contribution to the world wide library of handbell scores. This Anthology (Volume I) includes 18 of her most loved arrangements, performed by 11 well known handbell ensembles from around the world. The Raleigh Ringers is proud to be one of these ensembles, represented on this CD with their recordings of "Farandole", "Stille Nacht", "Un Flambeau, Jeannette, Isabelle", "Materna" and "God With Us For All Time".
Dean Shostak "World Glass"
World Glass is Dean Shostak's newest recording, a collection of 16 pieces that showcase Dean's entire collection of glass instruments. Selections feature the Glass Armonica, the Quartz Glass English Handbells, the Grand Harmonicon, the Glass Bowed Psaltery, the Hario Glass Violin and the Cristal Baschet along with guest artists on their instrument of specialty. The Raleigh Ringers perform with Dean on the piece Jesu, Joy of Man's Desiring, ringing handbells and handchimes while Dean plays the Glass Armonica.
The CD is available on his website www.crystalconcert.com.
