Flight of the Bumblebee
Flight of the Bumblebee, arranged by Martha Lynn Thompson.
Original composition by Jason Krug. Escape Velocity depicts a space shuttle flight, from the sunrise over the launch site through the launch itself, to the graceful, flowing dance of orbit, and once more through the violent reentry and on to the final safe touchdown. The term "escape velocity" is simply how fast an object -- like a space shuttle -- needs to travel to break away from Earth's gravitational field and achieve orbit. The knowledge and technological advancements the shuttle program have gifted the human race have helped us to reach our own escape velocity, one that has propelled us beyond the bounds of what we once thought possible and into the great unknown beyond.
Escape Velocity is humbly dedicated to the American space program and all those who have helped mankind slip the surly bonds of Earth and dance the skies on laughter-silvered wings.
