Great Rep Ring & Classes

Saturday, March 7, 2020

9:30-11:30 am - Great Rep Ring! – $20

Ring through handbell literature you can use throughout the year, including music for the 2020 Capital Area Handbell Festival. This reading session will be directed by David Harris. All published music used in this Rep Ring will be available to purchase on the day of the reading session with no shipping charges.

Classes Led by The Raleigh Ringers

12:30–1:20 pm - Treble Techniques – $10

Learn how to handle more than one bell in each hand. This class teaches Four-in-Hand and Shelley multiple bell techniques.

1:30–2:20 pm - Weaving 101 – $10

Learn to master two bells and their accidentals, making smooth, swift changes without losing your place in the music or getting your bells “mixed up." These skills will help you ring more effectively in a full group.

2:30–3:20 pm - Stuck in the Middle – $10

The battery are the bells that are in the middle of the ensemble. Learn the techniques and skills to use to combat the challenges of moving between melody and accompaniment, and switching dynamics and techniques often.

You may register for as few or as many sessions as you would like.  Registration closes on Monday, March 2, 2020.

This year we are holding our spring workshops at Highland United Methodist Church in Raleigh – the same location as our 2020 Capital Area Young Ringers Festival with clinician Jason Krug. After the last session, we hope you will stay to hear the youth in their final concert at 3:30 pm. Admission is free!
