Join The Raleigh Ringers for their annual holiday concerts. This Raleigh tradition will feature the group’s unique interpretations of sacred, secular and popular music, including famous rock ‘n’ roll tunes arranged just for handbells.

This year, Hart Morris, The Raleigh Ringers’ composer laureate, will join the group onstage to add percussion instrumentation to several of the arrangements he has done for the group.

Hart Morris is a graduate of Oklahoma Baptist University (B.M. Church Music / Voice) and the University of Houston (M.M. Choral Conducting), with additional studies in percussion at Oklahoma City University and the University of Houston. He began playing drums in elementary school and continued playing percussion through high school. As a high school junior and senior he played with the Oklahoma City Symphony Orchestra, and upon entering Oklahoma City University as a freshman percussion studies major, became the orchestra’s timpanist. His plans to become a professional orchestral percussionist changed when he entered Oklahoma Baptist University as a voice major. After graduation, he spent his career as a minister of music, serving churches in Florida, Texas, Tennessee, and Oklahoma. He never gave up percussion, however, finding opportunities along the way to play with various ensembles. Percussion interests led him into the world of handbells, which are percussion instruments in every way! He has directed national handbell seminars and festivals, conferences and workshops; twice represented the USA as a conductor for International Handbell Symposiums and is a published composer/arranger of handbell and choral music. In fact, Hart has arranged or composed over 25 of The Raleigh Ringers commissions - more than any other individual.
